DRAGONS TEETH.

"Dragons Teeth" was the popular name coined during WWII for concrete anti-tank obstacles.
These truncated pyramid-shaped reinforced concrete bollards were used with great effect,
particularly by the Axis forces, to deny passage to armoured vehicles wherever they were
deployed. The Wehrmacht used them in enormous quantities as an essential component of their
West Wall defences (better known as the Siegfried Line) during the closing stages of the war
in Europe.

My Dragons Teeth objects replace the standard Axis Railway Line objects in Jane's Dynamic Mission
Editor (DME). There are two separate elements, a straight section, and a right-angle joiner. The
straight sections can be slightly angled to one another to create gentler curves if required.
When in the DME mode select the following options:

DRAGONS TEETH (Straight Element) = TRACK 1

DRAGONS TEETH (Curved Element) = TRACK 2

You will find that the Dragons Teeth objects are fully manoeuvrable on the ground and will respond
to the usual mouse and numeric keypad controls. Once you have precisely positioned the new objects
don't forget to SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!

Unfortunately these Dragons Teeth elements are currently cosmetic only! Due to the inherent limitations
of the AI processes of Jane's WW2 Fighters, armoured vehicles are not deterred by anything, and will
plough through absolutely any object in their path! If some way can be found in the future to modify
the AI of mobile ground objects then it will be possible to make the Dragons Teeth elements as effective
as the real thing were during WWII. However, in the meantime they make an interesting addition to the
battlefield landscape!

CAUTION: Beware of attempting to recreate the Siegfried Line in its entirety! These Dragons Teeth elements
are moderately large files and will drastically reduce frame rate if over-used.

Before installing this or any other custom modification, you are advised to take a backup
your original ww2.sqs archive.

Extract the contents of this archive to the WWII Fighters\Data directory. Assuming the
default installation, this is: C:\Program Files\Jane's Combat Simulations\WWII Fighters\Data
The files will be extracted to a new directory WWII Fighters\Data\Dragons_Teeth. Using Windows
Explorer, navigate to the WWII Fighters\Data\Dragons_Teeth directory.

This modification employs only standard resolution (256x256) textures so no video problems are
envisaged.

To install, double-click on the Gun Emplacement Installation.bat icon. This will open up a DOS session
and the installation will proceed in this window. When the installation is complete, a message saying
"DONE...CLOSE DOS SESSION" will be displayed in the window. Close the DOS session by clicking on the 'X'
close button in the top right corner of the window. Installation is now complete.
