Messerschmitt BF109 Mod
-----------------------

General:
--------

This Mod is a 3rd party rework of the stock Bf 109 G6 that came with the original game
"Jane`s WW II Fighters" by Electronic Arts (Trademarks)

But it is completely different made than the default one.
Its not a little bit tweaked by moving some vertices and uses new defined bmps which will be added into the sqs-file.
this will result that already existing skins for the default 3D files wont work!

This mod uses in general two 512 bmps at each side(for non-mirrored painting), so we have a total of 1024,
like the DORA by HAMMERD or the CSF2 planes have also.

With this Mod comes the possibility for the SKINMAKERS out there to build different types only by different skins!

featured are:

Bf 109 F2/TROP
Bf 109 F4/TROP
Bf 109 F4/ZTROP
Bf 109 G1/TROP
Bf 109 G2/TROP
Bf 109 G2-R1/TROP
Bf 109 G4/TROP

and, of course, these types without the tropfilter-modification

It is planned for further releases to put the bubbles back on the cowling for a G6 type in an optional way
like the following already installed addons:

-Tropfilter
-Hardpoint for droptank
-Hoop Antenna
-Little intakes at the cowling for the G-types
-Extern Rear gear (this one is always outside and wont move, for this,
it wont turn to the sides with the rudder)
-Rear wheel bay cover for use with the extern gear (not always used, skinmakers!)

For adding this stuff see the optional2.bmp!-you have to magenta these areas, which you dont want to show.
For the use of extern rear-gear you have to magenta the original moving wheel in the FL.bmp !!

The spinner has the possibility for the use of a spiral (Kullerschnautze), just paint a spiral in the circle of the bmp.
(the upper left and lower right corner for a paint program-circle-option are still on the bmp!
-inside this circle is the used area for it)

However, the Release skin is painted after the personal aircraft of H.J.Marseille
"the Star of Africa", with no less than 158 confirmed kills.

for more information of the mod, the original plane, Marseille, or help for the possible skins,
please watch the Combat-Flight-Sims-Site at my Homepage:

Installation - 3D
-----------------

IMPORTANT:
Before installing this, or any other, custom modification, you are advised to take a backup
of your original ww2.sqs archive.

Extract the contents of this archive to the WWII Fighters\Data directory.
Assuming the default installation, this is: C:\Program Files\Jane's Combat Simulations\WWII Fighters\Data

The files will be extracted to a new directory WWII Fighters\Data\Bf109
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the WWII Fighters\Data\Bf109-3D directory.

This distribution only includes high-resolution (512x512) textures for users
whose video cards support high-resolution textures.
WARNING: attempting to install high-resolution textures on a system with a video card which does not support them
may (-WILL!!) cause the game to crash.

(If you have to run with 256 bmps you have to resample all bmps with 50 %)

To install the high-resolution textures, double-click on the install.bat icon.

This will open up a DOS session and the installation will proceed in this window. When
the installation is complete, a message saying "DONE...CLOSE DOS SESSION" will be
displayed in the window. Close the DOS session by clicking on the X close button in the
top right corner of the window.

Installation is now complete.

Have fun
